I finally found this tour so I could review it (see my review of the Lightner Museum which was inspired by this tour). We have never done a walking tour anywhere, but visit St. Augustine every year. This year we decided to do the History, Mystery, Mayhem & MURDER tour, inspired by a Groupon, no less. Wow, were we happy we did. I was wanting a "ghost tour" and T just wanted something fun. We signed on for this tour and luckily, Nicolette was our guide. She is an absolutely engaging, funny, smart, and entertaining guide (not to mention extremely cute, even bundled up on probably the coldest night of the winter) who has apparently lived in the area all of her life and takes its history seriously and personally. This is apparently a side-job of hers that she does because she is passionate about it. Nicolette filled us in on the history of Flagler college, including its construction and the construction of nearby Casa Monica as well as the Hotel Alcazar (which now houses other things, including the Lightner Museum); some of the mysteries of old St. Augustine, including findings of charred bones and human remains in some of the streets that are still there after hundreds of years; the mayhem and murder of a young socialite; and the bittersweet stories of freed slaves in the area. Nicolette knows her history, and she knows her hometown, and she knows how to make an hour or two disappear into the night just like the identity of Athalia's murderer. Go spend an evening with her if you want real history of the mainland's oldest city!

We went on a chilly Friday night. Im kind of a local, next town, and have spent a lot of time in St Augustine and I learned some things on this tour. Kathleen was our guide and she was outstanding except she was hard to hear. I would return for this tour and bring guests.

I have been on several ghost tours and the Mystery, Mahem & Murder tour sounded interesting ! We were very impressed with Nicolette our tour guide as she is a 5th generation St Augustine resident. She was very passionate about history and shared personal stories along with the tour stories and welcomed our group to participate and she she had a great sense of humor and made sure we were all engaged. I would say best tour!! She gave us sites we should go back and see and will do! She loves St Augustine.

The staff was very kind and talkative. The overall tour was terrible. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable (because she was apart of the historical society) but kept telling us is wasn't a ghost tour. She didn't tell us any mystery or mayhem. She told us one murder and told her that's all she got. I was very displeased with the tour and I am super dissapointed. I've been to St. Augustine many times and can say that I rather do the Ripley's ghost tour than this one. I'm sorry to leave such a bad review because the staff was so kind but its description does not fit the tour. I do hope that I can give this tour another shot in the future and they improve their tour.

Went on the History, Mystery, Mayhem and Murder tour during Nights of Lights on November 25th 2016. Nicolette was our tour guide. She is born and raised in Saint Augustine and has quite the heritage. Full of information, very theatrical, well done. As a local of Saint Augustine I learned things I simply did not know. Even with all of the chaos going on around us with Nights of Lights it was an enjoyable 90 minutes. This is not a ghost tour; it's quite the opposite but well worth the money spent. As a local I recommend,

Frequently Asked Questions about History, Mystery, Mayhem & Murder

What should I wear?
Please wear appropriate footwear and watch your step, as sometimes we venture across fields or unpaved areas in search of the supernatural.

What should I bring?
Bring your camera! Photos are not only welcomed, but encouraged! Our guides will explain what to look for and show you areas that are 'hot-spots' for activity. While of course nothing is guaranteed, you really have to see some of the images our guests capture on film to believe it! (We would hardly believe some of the pictures ourselves had we not been there!)

Do you operate in inclement weather?
Tours operate rain or shine.

How early should we check-in?
We suggest arriving 15-20 minutes prior to departure.
