"Good tour & guide, but not good for handicapped."

The trolley tour gave us a good overall view of St. Augustine. Our driver/guide, ROBERT was very informative and entertaining. I am handicapped and walk with crutches. It was very difficult to get on and off the trolley, which is the whole idea of “hop on, hop off”. They did have a lift and space for a wheelchair, but you could only enter or exit at one of the stops, again defeating the idea of getting off and on. We noticed that the Red Train trolleys were much easier to board and exit. In the end, the tour was a waste of money for us because there was no incentive to utilize it during our stay to go to the various sites in town.

Love St. Augustine and this was a really good tour with loads of history and interesting facts. Maybe a little pricey but still well worth doing and great that you can hop on and off wherever you want.

"Prefer the Red Train"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5

This year marks our 3rd visit to St. Augustine. We have taken the Old Town Trolley two years. I want to say that it make lots of stops, has good hours and the tour guides are very good. However, having also taken the Red Train, I would recommend the Red Train over the Old Town Trolley. The primary reason is ease of use. The OTT is difficult to get on and off, feels cramped and is very hot due to the types of seats, which are hard plastic. With that said, it does have very good wheelchair accessibility.

This was our third visit to St Augustine, but our first trolley tour. The tour takes about 90 min., and is worth the money and time, before deciding what you want to see and do while here. On the first day in St. Augustine, we rode around town and just enjoyed the history trip with views. The third day in, we paid a small percentage add-on to original purchase, and then made several stops, hopping back on to get to the next destination. Normally we just walk the town, but we had a member with some mobility issues, which made the trolley riding necessary. Getting off and on several times means you’ll get a different driver, and slightly different points of history. We saw hidden points of interest we would have missed on our own! Roll all four drivers together, and we got a really great history of St Augustine. Just before we got back on to get to out last stop, a thunderstorm began developing. We made it inside our destination as the storms boomed with a mighty downpour. Fortunately, my sister and I had umbrellas, but our husbands only had their hats to take cover under. At the end of our tour, and then leaving the building, the rain began to let up as we boarded the trolley. However, the driver handed us ponchos just in case the skies decided to drop more rain. We made it back to the trolley depot (free parking)to get into our truck and head back to our campground. Sad to leave, but we’ll be back again.

This is a great way to see the city. The hop on/hop off is very convenient. A tram comes by the stops about every 15 minutes. George was one of our drivers. He was very informative and entertaining.
