"Cancelled our reservation because we had a baby."

We did not see the fine print on the hotel website about a policy change for next year. They cancelled our reservation because we had a child. However exceptions were made for other guests with children. Bummer.

"Nice property but WAY too expensive"

The staff and location were excellent, in the heart of St. Austin’s. But the rooms in a shared house bed and breakfast style home were too loud. We could hear our neighbors walking and talking. And the price was WAAAY too expensive ($475/night) for this room.

This was our first time staying here, I must say this is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at plus at check-in they had a suite available and they had upgraded us to that suite (thank-you) I must say the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The grounds are beautiful, the buildings are very historic as well they are very nicely decorated inside. The rooms are very quite for sleeping and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was great also. The next time we are in St Augustine, we will be staying there.

I feel we found a hidden gem at The Collector Inn. It far exceeded our expectations and will definitely return. Everything was simply perfect. Even the complimentary breakfast was better than some restaurants as they had nice healthy options. Thank you for a great visit and stay.

"Just Fantastic!"

We booked three nights at The Collector while visiting St Augustine for our daughters wedding. What a wonderful experience. The Collector is a group of vintage homes, carriage house, well house and general store all built in the 1700’s, 1800’s and very early 1900’s. The gardens throughout the property were well maintained and very peaceful. We spent several hours throughout our stay enjoying the fire pits located on the grounds. Our particular room was nice and cozy and well appointed. The room of our friends and a room for our daughter were also very nice and all three rooms were very unique. They also offer free bikes for touring, while we mostly walked because of the close proximity to town center, we also utilized the bikes for several nice rides around town. The location of The Collector, in my opinion, is perfect. The location is far enough from the crowds to have a quiet ambience, yet close enough to get where you need to be in a short walk. The staff at The Collector is first rate and could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The valets were all spot on and ready to go, the front desk personnel were as friendly as could be, the breakfast lady greeted us each morning with a hearty welcome, the cleaning people and grounds people always greeted us as we passed by, and the bartender John made awesome drinks and great conversation. If you stay at The Collector and like to have an early evening cocktail you have to visit The Well and John at the bar. We had a great time at The Collector, rarely in my opinion is the accommodations a highlight of the trip but in this case they really made a wonderful impression on our trip, our daughters wedding notwithstanding. We will definitely stay at The Collector again!
